Halle Berry Passes on "Hostages" at Bruckheimer TV

By Liza Foreman

Halle Berry has passed on Jerry Bruckheimer’s upcoming television conspiracy drama “Hostages,” leaving the producers to figure out their next step.

Jeffrey Nachmanoff is writing and directing the drama for Jerry Bruckheimer Television and Warner Bros. TV. The project landed at CBS in October with a pilot production commitment.

“Hostages” is based on an Israeli format which centers on a family caught in the middle of a political conspiracy that is set to change everyone’s lives.

It was was originally developed for Israel’s Channel 10 by Alon Aranya, Omri Givon and Rotem Shamir.  An adaptation for the U.S. market was written by Aranya and purchased by Bruckheimer TV.

Jerry Bruckheimer TV has a number of other big TV projects in the works with various pilot commitments in place, including “The Secret Lives of Husbands and Wives.” It has put pilot commitments for the FBI drama “The Bureau” at CBS, the military comedy “At Ease” and the comedy “B-Side” at NBC.

Berry could most recently be seen on the big screen in “Cloud Atlas.” Her upcoming films include “The Call.” Her past TV credits include the TV movie “Their Eyes Were Watching God” and “Knots Landing.”
