DAYS OF POLISH CINEMA AT 54TH ZLÍN FILM FESTIVAL IN 2014

Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Denmark – these countries were celebrated within a section Days of European Cinema at the previous issues of ZLÍN FILM FESTIVAL.

54th International Film Festival of Films for Children and Youth is going to present Polish cinema.

You can look forward to meeting many significant Polish actors and filmmakers.

Polish director Krzysztof Zanussi and actor Daniel Olbrychski were guests of 42nd ZLÍN FILM FESTIVAL in 2002 (see the photo). We hope they will accept our invitations again and will accompany their films in the Polish film showcase.

The latest 53rd ZLÍN FILM FESTIVAL introduced Days of Danish Cinema. Lots of well-known Danish actors and filmmakers attended our event. Some of them were members of the juries, for example a famous Danish producer Per Holst (Pelle the Conqueror, Zappa, War of the Birds and many others) or Jannik Hastrup, a legend of Danish animated film (War of the Birds, The Boy Who Wanted to Be a Bear, Hans Christian Andersen and the Lond Shadow). Pelle Hvenegaard once a child actor came to Zlín to introduce the Academy Award-winning epic movie Pelle the Conqueror (Bille August, 1987). Danish shooting star Cyron Melville spent a whole week in Zlín and presented several film he starred in (Love and Rage, Timetrip, You & Me Forever, Life Hits).
