Co-production Award – Prix EURIMAGES – for Helena Danielsson

This year’s EUROPEAN CO-PRODUCTION AWARD – Prix EURIMAGES, an award acknowledging the decisive role of co-productions in the European film industry, goes to Swedish producer Helena Danielsson.

After a fifteen-year-long career in the Scandinavian and European film industry, Helena Danielsson established Hepp Film in 2003. The company’s core activity is to develop and realise feature films, TV-dramas and documentaries in international co-productions with award-winning European talent and it has done so most successfully. Helena Danielson is an outstanding and dedicated producer, among her many films are Clive Gordon’s CARGO (2006), A RATIONAL SOLUTION which ran in competition at the Venice Critics’ Week 2009, the feature documentary SMILING IN A WARZONE which was nominated for an international Emmy award in 2007, and Venice 2010 Critics’ Week winner BEYOND by Pernilla August. She also produced the EURIMAGES-supported films NEON FLESH by Paco Cabezas (2008) and WHITE WHITE WORLD by Oleg Novkovic (2009).

Helena Danielsson continues to work with Hepp Film and also joined the company Tre Vänner Produktion AB which produced Daniel Espinosa’s SNABBA CASH, also supported by EURIMAGES and winner of three Swedish Guldbagge awards.

Helena Danielsson is a member of ACE (Ateliers du Cinema Européen), the national coordinator of EAVE, and a voting member of the European Film Academy.

The EUROPEAN CO-PRODUCTION AWARD – Prix EURIMAGES will be presented during the European Film Awards Ceremony in Malta on Saturday, 1 December 2012.

EURIMAGES is a support fund for the co-production, distribution and exhibition of European cinematographic works, established by the Council of Europe in 1988.

Since it was set up in 1988, EURIMAGES has supported 1,471 European co-productions for a total amount of approximately 445 million euros.
