The elite of backing musicians take center stage in Hired Guns: One night Stand only this thursday across USA

Filmfestivals.com recommends the not to be missed Premiere Screenings of "Hired Gun: Out of the Shadows, Into the Spotlight"  Stars of the new documentary Hired Gun include the film's co-producer Jason Hook, left, along with Rudy Sarzo, Kenny Aronoff, Derek St. Holmes, Phil X and Liberty DeVitto.Stars of the new documentary Hired Gun include the film's co-producer Jason Hook, left, along with Rudy Sarzo, Kenny Aronoff, Derek St. Holmes, Phil X and Liberty DeVitto.

Performing in the shadow of the big stars like Billy Joel, Kiss, Ozzy, the hired guns we follow are called to perform on tours, in recording sessions, to replace missing band members or just to form a hot group around the key talent. The film puts these A list performers in the spotlight while giving us a chance to witness their incredible solo skills with some amazing moments when they jam together ("a perfect storm of awesomeness" quotes Fran Strine).

Hired Gun by Fran Strine played with success in key festivals (SXSW, Glastonbury...) finally gets it's theatrical premiere release this thursday, june 29th in 300 theaters nationally for one night only. Save the date.

Chances are you'll want to stand up and rock and shake in the theatre when you favorite song comes to screen.
Bruno Chatelin.
The filmmakers behind Hired Gun hope to do for backing musicians what 20 Feet From Stardom did for backup singers.

In the vein of the 2014 Academy Award©-winning documentary “20 Feet from Stardom,” “Hired Gun” details the highs and lows of touring life, the demands of session schedules and the dedication required to play backseat to some of rock’s most iconic musicians.  These players are recognized as some of the best musicians in the world, and include Jason Hook (Five Finger Death Punch), Liberty DeVitto (Billy Joel), Kenny Aronoff (John Mellencamp), Rudy Sarzo (Ozzy Osbourne), Phil X (Bon Jovi), Justin Derrico, Mark Schulman (P!NK), Ray Parker Jr. (Ghostbusters), Jason Newsted (Metallica), Eric Singer (KISS), John 5 (Rob Zombie), Glen Sobel, Nita Strauss (Alice Cooper), Steve Lukather (Michael Jackson, Toto), Steve Vai (David Lee Roth), Paul Bushnell (Katy Perry), Jay Graydon (Steely Dan), Derek St. Holmes (Ted Nugent), Chris Johnson (Rihanna), music producer David Foster, and featuring Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie, and more.

Lise Romanoff, Managing Director and CEO of Vision Films said, “You don’t have to be a rock fan to enjoy this movie. It is such an inspiration to see the creativity and collaboration of the talented musicians that are behind the number one songs on the radio.”

“’Hired guns’ have been an important lynchpin in the industry throughout modern musical history,” Fathom Events Vice President of Programming Kymberli Frueh said. “You may never know their names, but you have heard them play, and we are thrilled to help bring their stories to the big screen for one night in celebration of these incredibly talented musicians.”

“Hired Gun” Director Fran Strine said, “The music fans who come out to see it should expect an immersive musical experience. ‘Hired Gun’ is a music documentary with passion and talent at its core, digging deep and ripping the curtain back to expose what it’s really like to tour and record with the legends.”
