Moët British Independent Film Awards

Monday 10 December 2012  at Old Billingsgate the stars turned out in force for the 15th Moët British Independent Film Awards. The glittering event was a who’s who of British cinema and was hosted by actor James Nesbitt fresh off the set of The Hobbit.

Attending the star-studded event was Jude Law who received the Variety Award, and acting legend Michael Gambon who won the coveted Richard Harris Award.

 

Other guests included Terence Stamp, Billy Connolly, Tom Hiddleston, Terry Gilliam, Peter Capaldi, Olivia Coleman Idris Elba, John Hurt, Tom Felton, Andrea Riseborough, Elle Fanning, Ruth Wilson, Felicity Jones, Holliday Grainger, Edith Bowman and Noomi Rapace.

 

Past nominees, patrons and supporters of BIFA were also in attendance to take part in a special group photo to celebrate the 15th Birthday of the Awards, taken under the iconic UK flag by official photographer Idil Sukan.

 

James Nesbitt made a dazzling introduction to the ceremony by re-wording a Frank Sinatra song to include anecdotes about celebrity guests.

 

Prior to the awards, guests dined on a delicious seasonal menu and enjoyed magnums of Moët & Chandon.

Moët Champagne was flowing all night and each winner received the stunning ‘Eternal Objects’ designed by Tokujin Yoshioka for Swarovski Crystal Palace as their award. MAC also provided a special 15th anniversary lipstick gift on tables for every guest at the ceremony as well as their usual, and much sort after, makeup gift bag for all winners and presenters. There was also a special gift from Willie’s Cacao.

 

On the red carpet guests were invited to “Toast for a Cause”. Tom Hiddleston, Michael Gambon, James Nesbitt, Terence Stamp, Olivia Coleman, Andrea Riseborough, John Hurt and Ruth Wilston helped to raise thousands of pounds for their favourite charities by toasting with mini Moët & Chandon bottles.

 

During the after party Belvedere Vodka was served alongside Moët & Chandon as well as some colourful and delicious cocktails;

 

A quenching mix of (Belvedere)Red Vodka muddled with fresh mint leaves and topped with sparkling Fever Tree Sicilian Lemonade

 

Belvedere, Tonic & Pink Grapefruit - a refreshing twist on the classic. (Belvedere) Red Vodka and Fever Tree Indian Tonic with a squeeze of fresh pink grapefruit.

 

Music was provided by nine-piece Incredibly Strange Film Band, who specialise in TV and film themes from the 60’s to present day, and special guest DJ Rob Da Bank
