Marten Rabarts appointed Head of EYE International, a warm goodbye to Claudia Landsberger

Marten Rabarts replaces Claudia Landsberger as Head of EYE International. EYE International is responsible for the international promotion of Dutch films and the Dutch film industry. Rabarts, currently Head Development & Training at the National Film Development Corporation in India, formerly was the Artistic Director of Binger Filmlab in Amsterdam during 12 years.

In his previous positions Marten Rabarts already thought and worked beyond the Dutch borders, always keeping a special eye for cinema from the Netherlands. From March 1 he will put the international spotlight on Dutch cinema, as he has successfully done the past few years for the independent Indian cinema.

Sandra den Hamer, Director of EYE:
"After 20 years of passionate expertise and enormous dedication of former Head EYE International Claudia Landsberger, it was not an easy task to find a successor, but we are very happy with the appointment of Marten Rabarts. Marten has years of experience in the (inter)national film industry, has a large national and international network, is an energetic team player and bursting with ambition to lift the Dutch film to an even higher level internationally."

Marten Rabarts:
"Representing and promoting Dutch cinema, film-makers and industry abroad is a task I can't wait to get my teeth into. The ever increasing flow of diverse and high quality work, evidenced already in 2015 with a Foreign Oscar shortlist contender (Accused) as well as a major new work by Peter Greenaway (Eisenstein in Guanajuato) in Berlin Film Festival competition indicates the robust good health of our industry. I look forward to engaging with all the stakeholders of our talented film community to work together to put Dutch film in the international spotlight where it belongs."

About EYE International
EYE International is responsible for the international marketing and promotion of Dutch films. EYE supports Dutch filmmakers and producers to put films from the Netherlands on the map. EYE International is involved in every stage in the life of a Dutch film abroad, from the selection for recognized film festivals to presentations at the international (film) market. EYE International also provides the international film circuit with information on current developments within the Dutch film industry.
