12th THESSALONIKI DOCUMENTARY FESTIVAL : Images of the 21st Century : March 12  - 21, 2010

The 12th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival - Images of the 21st Century, part of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, presents approximately 190 films by directors from all over the world, as well as a full parallel events program (previously announced on February 26).

OPENING FILM

The Invention of Dr. Nakamats (Opfindelsen af dr. Nakamats, Denmark, 2009, 60 min) by Kaspar Astrup Schröder will be screened right after the 12th TDF opening ceremony on Friday the 12th of March. The documentary presents the life and times of the world's greatest (and probably most eccentric) inventor, currently holding more than 3.000 patents, Dr. Nakamats, who will also attend the ceremony.

FIPRESCI JURY

An international FIPRESCI (International Federation of Film Critics) jury will hand out an award to a Greek documentary and an award to a foreign documentary.
