Watch the complete program of Go Short - International Short Film Festival Nijmegen online now. The eight edition of the Dutch festival for short film takes place from 6-10 April. Go Short selected the best 300 recent European films. This edition Go Short reflects on what’s going on in the world right through the medium of cinema. Fear is Not An Option and World Matters are part of the special film programs of Go Short 2016: a program which taps into the feeling of fear that exists in our society nowaday. Also the online platforms De Correspondent and Vice are invited to the festival and present their most profound and enlightening shorts about what’s going on in the world nowadays.

Fear Is Not An Option
A look at the state of the world today may inspire a lot of things. Wonder, excitement – but in many people: fear. Terrorism, economic malaise, global warming: there is a lot to be afraid of. But fear, though understandable, does not make those problems go away. Sometimes, fear is just not an option. Festival de Nouveau Cinéma Montreal, Vienna Independent Shorts and Go Short have joined forces to put fear on the map.

World Matters

The triangle program Fear Is Not An Option isn’t Go Short’s only collaboration: this edition Go Short also worked together with the Dutch film festival Movies That Matter for the first time. Together they curated the program World Matters in which they show documentaries and fiction films that approach current issues all in their own unique way. Topics range from the outbreak of Ebola to getting confronted with the death penalty.
Movies That Matter Festival is the annual international film- and debate festival about human rights. The festival starts at Friday 18th of March in The Hague.
