The news in French I English This content and related intellectual property cannot be reproduced without prior consent. 2014 Mecal Pro Awards for the best short films of this yearMecal Pro 2014, Barcelona International Short Films and Animation Festival, has closed its sixteenth edition with the traditional Awards Ceremony past Saturday 29th at the French Institute in Barcelona. Among the 123 short films selected for the competition sections - Animation, International, Documentary and Obliqua - eight awards and two honorable mentions have been awarded by the jury.
After four weekends of screenings, individual jurors gave their verdict and granted the following awards for the best short films of this year:
- International Grand Prix: Tav av Mig (Undress me). Victor Lindgren, Sweden. - Animation Grand Prix: Pandy. Vizar Matus, Czech Republic. - Filmin Obliqua Award: Noah. Patrick Cederberg and Walter Woodman , Canada. - Special Mention to Futon. Yoriko Mizushiri, Japan. - Obliqua Youth Jury Award: Nashorn im Galopp. Erik Schmitt, Germany. - Videolab Award to the best Spanish production: Sangre de Unicornio (Unicorn Blood). Alberto Vazquez, Spain. - Zero U i Award for best photography of the Spanish production: Canis. Marc Riba and Anna Solanas, Spain . - Special Mention to Cólera (Wrath). Aritz Moreno, Spain. - Alma Award for best screenplay for the Spanish production: Inertial Love. César Esteban Alenda and José Esteban Alenda, Spain. - Audience Award for Best Documentary: Elvakaffe. Maria Fredriksson, Sweden.
