Films that...Entertain...Educate...Inspire

The 2016 Denton Black Film Festival (DBFF) will showcase films that entertain, educate, inspire, and communicate Black American cultural themes to the broader community as expressed through movies and art that reflect cultural mindset and changes through several generations of film-making. DBFF is a month long expo running January 7-31, featuring engaging and entertaining films and events, culminating in a major screening of over 25 award-winning and/or thought-provoking films by independent filmmakers January 29-31. The Festival offers programming for the family inspired by the African-American experience.  DBFF seeks to offer the works of local, national and international filmmakers, that often are not seen by a broad audience and may not be recognized through major theatrical release.
