You Can Choose Your Family locks casting with Anna Gunn,Samantha Mathis, Alex Karpovsky, Logan Miller and Jim Gaffigan

Emmy Award winner Anna Gunn (Sully, AMC’s “Breaking Bad”), Samantha Mathis (American Pastoral, FX’s “The Strain”), Alex Karpovsky (Hail, Caesar!, HBO’s “Girls”) and Logan Miller (A Dog’s Purpose, AMC’s “The Walking Dead”) have joined Emmy Award nominee Jim Gaffigan in Miranda Bailey’s upcoming comedy You Can Choose Your Family.

Frank (Gaffigan) is a seemingly normal father of a loving family.  However, his home life is hilariously turned upside down when his 17-year-old son, Phillip (Miller) discovers that his dad has a second family.

"We have a truly talented group of actors and I am beyond excited to lead this stellar cast in this delightful story,” commented Bailey. “I can’t think of a more perfect class of actors to portray this seemingly dysfunctional family, which I think we can all relate to in one way or another in our own families.”

Gunn will take on the role of Laura, Frank’s first wife with Mathis playing the role of the second wife, Bonnie. Miller will play Frank’s teenaged son Phillip and the character Ross will be played by Karpovsky.

Currently in production, the film was developed by Bailey from a script written by Glen Lakin. Producers are Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, Karen Kehela Sherwood of Imagine Entertainment and Amanda Marshall of Cold Iron Pictures.

Anna Gunn is well known for her role as Skylar White in the award winning series “Breaking Bad”. She has appeared in such films as Clint Eastwood’s Sully starring alongside Tom Hanks and Aaron Eckhart and Tony Scott’s Enemy of the State starring Will Smith and Gene Hackman. Gunn can currently be seen in NBC’s television drama “Shades of Blue” with Jennifer Lopez and Ray Liotta.

Samantha Mathis stars in FX Network’s popular mystery series “The Strain”. She has also appeared in Lionsgate’s American Pastoral directed by and starring Ewan McGregor, Jennifer Connelly, and Dakota Fanning, and American Psycho starring Christian Bale.

Up-and-coming star, Logan Miller recently appeared in the charming adventure film A Dog’s Purpose with Dennis Quaid and Josh Gad, and Open Road’s Before I Fall. Prior to that, he appeared in the popular AMC television series “The Walking Dead” and currently stars in Disney XD’s “Ultimate Spider-Man”. Coming up next for Miller is 20th Century Fox’s drama Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda co-starring Jennifer Garner.

Alex Karpovsky has appeared in the Coen brother’s Oscar nominated comedy Hail, Caesar! alongside George Clooney, Josh Brolin, and Tilda Swinton, as well as the Coens’ Oscar nominated music drama Inside Llewyn Davis with Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, and Justin Timberlake. Karpovsky is perhaps most recognized for his role in HBO’s Golden Globe award winning series “Girls”.
