MK2 Congratulates Vincent Lindon and Stéphane Brizé for the Best Actor Award in THE MEASURE OF A MAN.

French actor Vincent Lindon wins the Best Actor award for his leading role in Stéphane Brizé's drama THE MEASURE OF A MAN.

Lindon (Welcome, For Her) stars as a working-class man struggling with unemployment and then, facing a difficult moral choice as a security guard in a supermarket.

THE MEASURE OF A MAN is produced by Nord-Ouest (Christophe Rossignon, Philip Boëffard) and has already been sold in 25 territories including the US and Canada (Kino Lorber), Italy (Academy 2), Spain (Golem), Benelux (Remain in Light),  Australia (Sharmill), Portugal (Alambique), Switzerland (Xenix), Sweden (Folkets Bio), Denmark (Ost for Paradis), Greece (Ama Films), Hungary (Cirko Films), Ex-Yugoslavia (Discovery), Turkey (Fabula Films), Taiwan (Swallow Wings), the Middle East (Moving Turtle) and Tunisia (Hakka Distribution).  "Powerfully affecting... Compelling. A sharp and devastating force"  Variety

"Lindon excels... (He) is simply heartbreaking to watch" Variety

"Critical plaudits and high-profile Cannes launch should ensure the film great international exposure"  Variety

"Tremendous. Excellent… superbly composed and performed"  Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian

"Potent, quiet protest against capitalist dehumanisation. Lindon one of the most authoritative screen presences..." Jonathan Romney

"Vincent Lindon gives a powerful lead performance" The Hollywood Reporter

"Highlighted by an all-consuming lead performance from Lindon – surrounded here by an excellent cast of non-pros – this third collaboration strays further into Dardennes Bros. territory than previous efforts, although its depiction of an Average Joe scraping by in contemporary France features its own unique voice"  The Hollywood Reporter

"French Social Critique at Its Finest... Vincent Lindon delivers a sterling performance in Stéphane Brizé’s low-key but devastating drama... Lindon’s heart-wrenching performance, is as restrained as it is moving" The Atlantic

" ’Measure’ is at once compassionate, engrossing from start to finish, and utterly relevant"  Geoff Andrew, Time Out London

"Lindon can do more with a glance than with several pages of dialogue, and his hardened physique gives him an intensity filled with deep sadness" The Hollywood Reporter
