 HollyShorts 

HollyShorts www.hollyshorts.com is now accepting submissions for the 8th installment of the HollyShorts Film Festival which takes place August 9-16, 2012 in Hollywood, CA. Since the festivals launch in 2005, HollyShorts has grown into the largest short form content film festival in Los Angeles.  HSFF is devoted to helping advance the careers of filmmakers with high level competition screenings, panels and networking events throughout the year--all culminating with an annual mega week-long festival each August. Festival sponsor Company 3 (http://www.company3.com/) will award $30,000 in post-production and finishing services.  Of the CO3 prize packages, $10,000 goes to the HollyShorts Best Overall Short Film, and the HollyShorts Best Director Award wins $10,000 in post-production and finishing services package from Company 3.  $5,000 in post-production services will be awarded to both the Best Commercial and Best Music Video. 

Other top prizes include a $5,000 camera rental package courtesy of Martini Crew Booking for the Best Student award, a $5,000 production package courtesy of Moviola, and $5,000 in services from Greenhouse Studios.   Showbiz Store and Café will provide award winners with a software prize pack.

The HollyShorts Call For Entries asks for top submissions 30 minutes or less. Filmmakers can submit today via Withoutabox at www.withoutabox.com/login/4655 or via www.hollyshorts.com.  HollyShorts categories include Live Action, Animation, Student, Documentary, Music Videos, Web Series, and Commercials. For the first-time ever, the festival's organizers are also adding a new Trailer category to the competition.

Filmmakers worldwide are encouraged to submit early to capitalize on the February 10 Early Bird deadline. The HollyShorts regular deadline is April 13, and the late deadline is May 18.

HollyShorts has consistently drawn the participation from the major Hollywood production companies, distributors, studios, agencies and management companies.  This year's festival is slated to raise the bar even higher as the organizers are adding the first ever HollyShorts Film Market with the aim to secure distribution for the top in-competition short films.

 

HollyShorts distribution partners include but not limited to: Shorts HD, Indie Pix, FearNet, Constellation TV, Fun Little Movies, and Openfilm. The festival's winners are automatically eligible to be screened at HollyShorts program tracks at some of the top film festival's in the world. HollyShorts Global Festival Content Partners include: Media Guardian Edinburgh International TV Festival, Thessaloniki International Film Festival (Greece), Soho Shorts (UK), Cinema Tous Ecran (Switzerland), among others.
