Abramorama has partnered with Sword Rowe Capital to establish a Filmed Content and P&A Fund.

The fund will target music driven films as well as other genres building on Abramorama’s experience in targeting niche markets. The initial fund will enable Abramorama to become involved in projects at an earlier stage, to help create, as well as market and distribute.  With the flexible funding in place, Abramorama will partner with content owners, music focused digital entities, bands, management companies, and record labels, to mine the visual content they have assembled over the years. Abramorama will continue actively seeking appropriate acquisitions along with other distribution arrangements.

Coming off their recent success with Ron Howard's The Beatles: Eight Days A Week-The Touring Years, Abramorama has proven time and again that they are specialists at releasing music driven long-form documentaries. Other music related films that Abramorama has launched include Cameron Crowe’s Pearl Jam Twenty; Sacha Gervasi’s Anvil! The Story Of Anvil; Green Day’s Heart Like A Hand Grenade, Laurie Anderson’s Heart of a Dog, Dave Stewart’s Stevie Nicks: In Your Dreams, The Zen of Bennett and Bernard Shakey’s Greendale, the beginning of 15 years as a consultant to Neil Young’s Shakey Pictures, a relationship that continues to this day.

Sword Rowe Managing Director & CEO Daniel B. Rowe stated, “Over the past few years, we have been increasingly impressed by the extensive and nuanced expertise that Abramorama has demonstrated in the music-driven independent film genre. Richard and his team are the perfect strategic partner to help expand our content investment strategy.”

Abramorama has also distributed opera from the Royal Opera House in London and now has an exclusive arrangement with RAI Com to release “as live” opera from the best houses across Italy. Additionally, Abramorama has had tremendous long-term success in the independent specialty market with a range of films including Banksy’s Academy Award®-nominated, Exit Through The Gift Shop; Asif Kapadia’s Senna; Dawn Porter's Trapped; Charles Ferguson’s Time To Choose; Showtime’s Listen to Me Marlon; John Turturro’s Romance and Cigarettes; and the surprise indie hit Awake: The Life of Yogananda.

Richard Abramowitz, President & CEO of Abramorama added, “This is the natural evolution for us as we continue to develop our mandate to release “tribal” films, films with definable, addressable audiences. Sword Rowe’s relationships in the music world will be invaluable in providing early access to quality projects and extending our reach to other strategic distribution platforms.

This news comes on the heels of an expansion of Abramorama with the recent announcement of New York based Karol Martesko-Fenster and Los Angeles based Evan Saxon joining the executive team as Executive Vice-President & COO and West Coast Head of Acquisitions & Business Development respectively.
