Bahamas International Film Festival

The Bahamas International Film Festival is dedicated to providing the local community and International visitors with a diverse presentation of films from around the world. educational programs, and forums for exploring the future of cinema.

BIFF’s 16th anniversary dates are scheduled for December 9 to December 15 with all activities taking place at Baha Mar and venues around Nassau. BIFF will contribute all revenue after expenses towards Hurricane Dorian Relief for Hope Town, Abaco.

BIFF 2016 Film Workshop will be open to Public

This year BIFF with the University of Georgia’s esteemed Department of Entertainment and Media Studies and The Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority (URCA) partners to expand the Film Workshop to young adults from the Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI).

BIFF will also host a three-week-long series of pre, production and post filmmaking tutorials open to the public!

BIFF Film Workshop will advance the skill level of any filmmaker, giving attendees working insight and expertise.

“ URCA is excited to support the further development of the ICT sector through the work of the Bahamas International Film Festival’s Film Workshop.” URCA says “by encouraging the development of innovative and quality content production by young persons in The Bahamas, we are fulfilling one of our key objectives under the Communications Act, and the Government’s Electronic Communications Policy. We look forward to supporting similar initiatives in the future."

The Bahamas International Film Festiva l (December 5 - 11) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing the local Bahamian community and international visitors with a diverse presentation of films from around the world. In addition to offering films that might not otherwise be released theatrically in the Bahamas, BIFF will provide a unique cultural experience and set of educational programs and forums for exploring the past, present and future of cinema.
