The 51st New York Film Festival World Premiere of THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY, directed by Ben Stiller was held at Alice Tully Hall, New York, Saturday, October 5, 2013. Red carpet arrivals included actress Amy Stiller, actress Christine Taylor, actor Terence Bernie Hines; cast and crew members Adam Scott, Adrian Martinez, Kristen Wiig, Olfur Darri Olafsson, Patton Oswalt, Sean Penn, actor/director Ben Stiller, and producer John Goldwyn.

THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY is a beautiful adventurous heartfelt story about Walter Mitty (Ben Stiller) a New York LIFE Magazine employee with a delay in social-emotional maturity and psychologically drifts in and out of reality. While the magazine company is downsizing and transitioning from print to online publishing, Walter is given a deadline to find a mysterious photo negative to be used for the front cover of the final print issue.

Based on the original short story by James Thurber in 1939, the film was shot in Greenland, Iceland and New York. Director and actor Stiller creatively captures on the inner tappings of the mind of fantasy and reality. The adventurous journey, the power of imagination and the movie soundtrack is magical! It is a true New York film.
