Animaze - Montreal International Animation Film Festival


 

August 17th - 20th, 2017

Animaze is an international film festival and conference exploring the world of animation in all its diversity. Filmmakers and professionals from over 65 countries will converge on Montreal from August 17-20. Over the course of four days Animaze celebrates animation with:

  • Screenings of over 160 films at the McCord Museum and Moyse Theatre McGill University Art Building  with an exhibition hall, panels and speakers, networking opportunities 
  • The Virtual Reality Cinema installations and panels
  • Talks and special events

Le Festival International du cinéma d'Animation présente des longs métrages d'animation, des courts ainsi que des films expérimentaux. Des conférences de l'industrie, des panels d'intervenants ainsi que des coproductions internationales seront au rendez vous. Des Ateliers sur l'état de l'art. Une Sélection internationale de films pour le public, des panels d'intervenants et une plate-forme éducative pour enfants. Nous présentons aussi un concours de film étudiant : un défi ouvert à toutes les écoles de film d'animation à travers la province du Québec et le Canada.
 
Nous sommes heureux d'annoncer cette nouvelle édition de notre festival, incluant les conférences de l'industrie du 18 - 21 aout 2016. De nouveaux films excitants, une programmation originale et un cycle de conférences de l'industrie sont prévus.

Montreal International Animation Film Festival to Kick Off its 4th Edition


The Montreal International Animation Film  Festival (MIAFF), presented by Animaze, is holding a press conference at the McCord Museum to kick off the 4th edition of the festival.  The official programming of the festival, its events, and this year’s invited guest speakers will be announced. Local Montreal filmmakers, the Red Cross, community associations, and entrepreneurs in film and virtual reality, will also be present.

Info:  The MIAFF, whose mission is to converge all animation and virtual reality mediums within a cultural festival, is holding a press conference to unveil its official program, list of events, workshops, and guest speakers. Ms. Laurie Gordon, and Ms. Josée Payant, will also explain that festival goers will have the opportunity to see the heroic actions undertaken by Swiss Doctor Marcel Junod, who worked with the Red Cross, through the Japanese animated film, Junod. The MIAFF will also announce a new partnership with the Golden Square Mile. The McCord Museum, in partnership with MIAFF, will also be hosting famed political cartoonist “Aislin” later that same day, at 6:00 pm, to discuss his work and career.
