American Online Film Awards

The American Online Film Awards are celebrating the best of independent and foreign films, documentaries, TV shows and music videos. As the Film and TV industries move towards the realities of internet distribution playing an important role in a projects release, the American Online Film Awards are celebrating the content that is making the internet such an exciting place these days.

The Awards Ceremony will take place in NEW YORK in December 2014. The Award Nominations will be made up of a mixture of online public votes and an expert industry panel, with films being eligible for the awards having participated in our Spring Official Selection or our Autumn Official Selection. These will be important curated showcase opportunities for projects to find new audiences and be discovered and recognised for the great pieces of work that they are. All films in the Official Selections will stream for 2 weeks on the American Online Film Awards website, where audiences will be able to view the films and vote for their favorites, on an easy to use and state of the art secure streaming platform.

Films will only be able to be watched by and voted for by audience members who purchase a ‘Screening Pass’. Films will not be able to be downloaded and will be securely streamed. A final showcase of the selections nominated for the Awards Ceremony will be available in November and December, leading up to the Awards, so that audiences will be able to further participate in celebrating the choices the public and industry panel have made.

Submission Categories

Short Film
Any film with a running time under 55 minutes.

Feature Film
Any film over 55 minutes in duration.

Documentary
Any non fictional motion picture of short or feature length.

Music Video
A short film produced for a song.

TV/ Web
Show Content made for a TV or Web show.
Pilots and regularly produced episodes are both considered.

Student Films
Films that have been produced by students during their time at an educational institution.
