Multiple deals for the feature A STREET CAT NAMED BOBA STREET CAT NAMED BOB ALMOST SOLD OUT
Brian O'Shea, CEO of The Exchange, announced today the closing of several deals for the feature A STREET CAT NAMED BOB. The Exchange is introducing the title at the 2015 American Film Market.
Based on a true story, A STREET CAT NAMED BOB is the adaptation of James Bowen's international best-selling book of the same title.
The feature is being produced by Adam Rolston (MEET ME ON THE SOUTHBANK) of Shooting Script Films, executive produced by Tim Smith (THE KING'S SPEECH, CHEF), Paul Brett (THE KING'S SPEECH, CHEF) from Prescience and Damian Jones (THE IRON LADY, BELLE) and directed by Roger Spottiswoode (TOMORROW NEVER DIES, THE 6TH DAY). Luke Treadaway (UNBROKEN, CLASH OF THE TITANS) stars alongside Ruta Gedmintas (PROWL, HELP POINT).
When James Bowen found an injured, ginger street cat curled up in the hallway of his homeless shelter, he had no idea just how much his life was about to change. James was living hand-to-mouth on the streets of London and the last thing he needed was a pet. Yet James couldn't resist helping the strikingly intelligent tom cat, whom he quickly christened Bob. He slowly nursed Bob back to health and then sent the cat on his way, imagining he would never see him again. But Bob had other ideas. Soon the two were inseparable and their diverse, comic and occasionally dangerous adventures would transform both their lives, slowly healing the scars of each other's troubled pasts.
The film is sold in the following territories, with a North American deal to be announced separately:
Australia/New Zealand - Sony Pictures Worldwide Airlines (worldwide) - Sky Movies Germany - Telemunchen Switzerland - Telemunchen Greece/Cyprus - Sony Pictures Worldwide Iceland - Sony Pictures Worldwide Italy - Notorious Pictures Portugal - Sony Pictures Worldwide Scandinavia - Sony Pictures Worldwide Spain - Sony Pictures Worldwide United Kingdom - Sony Pictures Worldwide Latin America - Sony Pictures Worldwide India - Pictureworks Indonesia - MVP Entertainment Japan - Comstock Group South Korea - Noori Pictures Israel - Sony Pictures Worldwide Turkey - Sony Pictures Worldwide CIS/Baltics - Sony Pictures Worldwide Eastern Europe - Sony Pictures Worldwide
"The book's success is due to an empowering story, spread by word of mouth. It has touched so many people and we are grateful to be representing this project," said Brian O'Shea of The Exchange.
