Millennium Media has named Jeffrey Greenstein as its new President, and Jonathan Yunger as Co-President.The announcement was made today (11/02) by studio Chairman and Founder Avi Lerner and COO Trevor Short; as the long-standing independent studio moves into its next era with confidence, as Greenstein and Yunger are promoted.
“Both Jeffrey and Jonathan have extraordinary instincts for our business,” says Lerner. “From the beginning Jeffrey’s talents were clear. His drive, zeal for knowledge, and his success running our international division have more than exceeded our expectations.”
Greenstein quickly rose within the studio’s ranks, flourishing in international sales, becoming president in 2015, overseeing all sales and distribution. During his tenure, Greenstein has managed the recent #1 box office hit “The Hitman’s Bodyguard,” and such note-worthy franchises as “The Expendables,” “Mechanic,” and the “‘Has Fallen’” films.
“Both gentlemen are incredibly talented, with great ideas and are full of energy,” says Short.
Says Greenstein, “I am honored Avi and Trevor have put confidence in me and my ability to help bring forward a new era. This company has such an unparalleled history. I’m excited about adding to that.”
Yunger’s rise within the studio has been equally swift. Learning from the ground up, his abilities shown through as he worked with production, agents, marketing, and fighting piracy with IFTA and Congress. Working with Millennium’s business model, Yunger spotted the trends, and is developing proprietary anti-piracy technologies at the well-established studio. He continued moving into development, and eventually international sales as vice president.
“I have been given so much by Avi, Trevor, Boaz (Davidson), and John (Thompson). This promotion allows me to give back, making a significant mark for Millennium and in independent film. I look forward to what tomorrow brings,” exclaims Yunger.
“It has been a pleasure watching Jonathan grow into this well-deserved position,” says Lerner. Both he and Jeffrey have learned so much so fast. It’s been remarkable, yet more importantly, what they have added to this company is unmatched. Maybe now, with Jeffrey and Jonathan in place and my son, Yariv, running Nu Boyana, I can finally take a vacation.”
Millennium is currently in production on “Hellboy,” a reboot of the Dark Horse comic, in pre-production on “Angel Has Fallen” starring Gerard Butler and Morgan Freeman, and packaging films with an eye for an elevated slate, such as “The Outpost” based on Jake Tapper’s (CNN) The Outpost: An Untold Story of American Valor. 04.11.2017 | American Film Market Dailies's blog Cat. : PEOPLE
