Arclight Films Gets OUT OF CONTROL - Action Crime Feature Races to Market at AFMArclight Films has taken on worldwide sales outside of China to the high octane thriller Out of Control, it was announced today by Arclight CEO Gary Hamilton. The action crime feature will be presented to buyers at the upcoming American Film Market.
The film is directed by Axel Sand (RTL’s longtime procedural “Alarm for Cobra 11,” Fast Track: No Limits, Final Contract: Death on Delivery) and Chinese director Richard Lin from a script written by Andreas Heckmann (“Alarm for Cobra 11”). Shot in both in English and Mandarin, the film stars Korean pop superstar Seunghyun Choi a.k.a “T.O.P” (Tazza: The Hidden Card , 71: Into the Fire), Cecilia Cheung (Shaolin Soccer, Fallen), Michael Trevino (“Vampire Diaires,” The Factory), and David Cheung (Mortdecai, Now You See Me 2, Snatch).
The film follows a Chinese superstar named Lucy Lin, played by Cecilia Cheung, as she attends the Berlin Film Festival and falls victim to a dangerous kidnapping plot. Her survival depends on the skills of a secret agent, also her ex-fiancée played by T.O.P, who launches an intense rescue mission to save her life.
“With the talents of pop superstar T.O.P and the rest of the fantastic international cast bringing the film so vividly to life, this action-packed race around Germany is an edge of your seat ride that is perfect for today’s marketplace,” commented Arclight CEO Gary Hamilton. “Axel and Richard are a dynamic team who are exceptional in creating big time thrills and some truly mind-blowing stunts. The film is out of control.”
The film is produced by Wilson Qiu (Cloud Atlas) through his Dreams of Dragon Pictures and Hermann Joha (Charlie’s Angels, The Patriot, Collide, Rush) through his company Action Concept, Europe’s largest action special effects company. Huaxia Film Distribution holds the Chinese rights.
