Film Market: A ghost of Leo past

A ghost of Leo past

While Leonardo DiCaprio is being feted as the teenybopper sweetheart of the 2000 Berlinale, a film he shot in 1996 is finally on its way to the cinemas, it was announced at the European Film Market.

The first (and still unfinished) feature of US director RD Robb, Don's Plum which has been picked up by Trust Film Sales, the foreign distribution outfit of Zentropa Entertainments, for worldwide sales has so far been blocked from release by a lawsuit.

However, the dispute has now been settled and the film is in post-production at Zentropa Entertainments' new facilities in Avedøre, outside Copenhagen, according to head of international sales Thomas Mai.

Don's Plum will be readied for Cannes, to be included in Trust Film Sales' line-up for the Cote d'Azur, along with another nine titles. At the same time Robb has agreed to make his next film for the Danish company.

In the film, DiCaprio stars with Tobey Maguire and Meadow Sisto.
