Time + motion = action

"New technologies create new markets and the structures of the industry are often not flexible enough to see the advantages of applying the new technologies in a particular area," said Irishman John Keogh who along with two German partners co-founded time + motion in 1995, one of the first Berlin production companies to offer digital post-production.

"There's a meltdown that has taken place over the last four or five years," he continued. "What's going to come out at the end is very much dependent on how quick and how well the producers can react to these new technologies."

time + motion started out as consultant supervisors for digital post production but the company has developed in such a way that it has started producing as well.

"The most important thing about the company is we have no hardware," he said. "The hardware changes so quickly it makes no sense financially for a company to buy this kind of hardware because in six months or a year you can buy the same equipment for 50% less."

Contracted to produce a theme evening for Arte on virtual reality, time + motion is currently looking for international co-production partners who have projects at various stages of financial completion.

"These project should be concerned with high-end technology," he emphasised. time + motion is also looking for sales agents to represent two virtual reality features.
