Lions Gate Films, previously known as CFP, has acquired Joe Carnahan's low-budget, high-style action thriller, Blood Guts Bullets & Octane which is screening in the Forum.
Produced for just $7,300, Blood Guts Bullets & Octane premiered at Sundance, attracting a lot of attention from both the media and acquisition teams.
"Carnahan has proven that all it takes to make a good thriller is some guns, some cars and a lot of talent, all of which he has in spades," said Lions Gate Releasing president, Mark Urman. "We are excited to have acquired this film and to launch the career of a major new director."
"I am thrilled to be in business with Lions Gate," said Carnahan. "They are a very smart, savvy company who have demonstrated their ability to brilliantly market smaller films such as The Daytrippers and The Pillow Book and give these movies a strong theatrical presence in the marketplace." CP
