The Academy Award nomination for Norwegian director Berit Nesheim's Søndagsengler (The Other Side of Sunday), which accordingly packed its screenings in the European Film Market, resulted in two immediate sales, according to sales agent Lena Enquist.
Previously licensed to Taiwan, the feature - which is Norway's third candidate for an Oscar - was picked up for Australia by Palace and for Brazil by Centro de Actividades Cinematograficas, while a contract for the US is pending.
Also represented by Enquist, Sweden's entry in the Panorama, Kjell-Åke Andersson's Juloratoriet (The Christmas Oratorio), was acquired for Australia and for Italy by Lucky Red. There are confirmed bids from the US, Germany, Spain and the Benelux.
